With the introduction of digital technologies in daily life, the three most important features of the new media that affect human life appear as interaction, de-massing and asynchrony (Rogers, 2003). Environments defined as new media and mobile devices that are widely used in accessing these environments (Kemp, 2019) have achieved the capacity to send and receive individual messages and messages among a large group of users, thus new media users can organize the content according to their needs, It has the ability to transmit or receive (İspir, 2015). These developments have affected the journalism profession as well as the entire society, and many international broadcasters have implemented mobile journalism practices (Mills, Egglestone, Rashid, & Vaataja, 2012). Due to the convenience in usage practices, it is thought that in the near future, news production and access to news processes will be carried out widely through mobile media (Kuyucu, 2018). It is stated that viewers are now mobile and it has become a necessity for news producers to move in this direction (Briggs, 2010).
Due to the convergence that emerged with the combination of the features offered by new interactive communication technologies, news production, access to news and transmission of news have become possible not only on the basis of written news but also in terms of video news content via mobile phones anytime anywhere (Ünal, 2012). For journalists, it has been possible to produce and transmit news from any point of the world with a single device (Bethell, 2010) and mobile devices have become indispensable tools for the journalism profession (Burum & Quinn, 2016). Mobile journalism, on the other hand, is seen as the most important factor in the change of the journalism profession and the practices of reaching the news (Ünal, 2019). In the new era when users with different levels of abilities in terms of receiving and producing news begin to be effective on content, the distinction between broadcasters and viewers is disappearing (Jenkins, 2016). Mobile devices have been found to be remarkable by many different disciplines as they offer positive effects on learning processes (Keskin & Metcalf, 2011). Although mobile journalism is important for citizens and those dealing with the journalism profession, it also offers new opportunities for institutions providing education in this field (Özyal & Tosun, 2017).
